You Can Now Go Bowling at the Four Seasons

Of all the things I expected to find at the new Four Seasons, a bowling alley was fairly low on the list.

Nevertheless, The Wager opened October 15 at Naples Beach Club, complete with four regulation bowling lanes, pool tables, and other arcade games. There's also a sports pub with televisions throughout and a covered terrace overlooking the putting course. Good news, even a luxury resort needs somewhere to watch football.

Bowling costs $100 for one hour for up to four people. Bring three friends and that's $25 apiece, before anyone orders a drink. You don't have to be staying at the hotel to make a reservation.

The menu takes its cues from a British pub, albeit one with a Naples Beach Club address. There’s bangers and mash on Fridays, shepherd's pie on Saturdays and beer-battered fish and chips with mushy peas every day. Elsewhere, things get a little more Four Seasons: lobster mac and cheese, a lobster roll with Tabasco aioli and fennel slaw, and a breaded veal chop. For something to share over a game, there are loaded nachos, Buffalo wings and herb fries with Cajun mayo.

Even if bowling isn't your thing, The Wager makes a good case for getting a few friends together. Between pool, ping-pong, foosball and arcade games, there's plenty to keep everyone occupied beyond the usual round of drinks. Plus, who doesn’t love a little competition?

The details: 801 Gulf Shore Boulevard N., Naples. The opening schedule lists Thursday and Friday, 4–11 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM–11 PM.
