Bonita Springs' Best Kept Secret? A True New York-Style Bagel Shop

You might have to take a ride up to Bonita Springs for the best bagel around Naples, but trust us, it's worth it.

Hole in 1 is owned by JP Figaro who hails from Brooklyn—so you know they are legit. He saw that the area, despite being a refuge for many from the North East, lacked a true New York bagel shop. Back in 2020 he opened Hole in 1 Bagels & Deli which serves fresh, kettle-boiled bagels baked daily. Their success is as undeniable as the smell coming from the oven.

The Naples Florida Review recently went to see if their bagels truly stacked up against New York favorites, and much to their chagrin, they did. Hole in 1 never skimps on the cream cheese and is routinely hailed as "the best bagels in Southwest Florida." Whether you order a bagel with lox or a are looking for a fresh breakfast sandwich on a kaiser roll, Hole in 1 is still a best-kept secret for breakfast—until now.

Make sure to add it to your list for your next Naples vacation, and if you need further convincing, check out the full review from The Naples Florida Review below!

This one requires a little jaunt north to Bonita Springs, but I promise it’s worth it. If you haven’t been to Hole in 1 Bagels & Deli, and you’re from New York or just bagel-picky by nature, go.

My first job out of college was on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange — I was one of those people waving my hands and arguing in the background on CNBC. And in that wild, chaotic environment, bagel orders mattered. A lot.

I had two favorites:
  • bialy with cream cheese and bacon (judge me if you want — it's an elite hangover cure), and
  • An everything bagel with two eggs over easy and ham — untoasted.

So last week, in a moment of nostalgic recklessness (and no longer operating in full post-college mode), I decided to try Hole in 1 and see if they could pull off the untouchable — my NYSE #2 order, to-go. Read the complete article here.
