Naples’ European Bread Shop

The European Bread You May Have Already Eaten

Landert Bread has been in Naples since 2012, although for most of that time you couldn’t simply walk in and buy a loaf. The family-owned company imports European breads and pastries for hotels, country clubs, restaurants and specialty food stores around South Florida. In March of 2025, it finally opened its first retail shop on Domestic Avenue.

Everything is produced in Europe and baked here, and the selection gets well beyond the usual baguette. Look for PurPur bread, made with 42% ancient purple wheat, rustic seeded rolls and ciabatta, along with French butter croissants, pastries and cakes. The baguettes come from outside Paris, while founder Jürg Landert is Swiss, so the shelves wander around Europe a bit.

After 10 a.m., there are deli sandwiches made with European meats and cheeses. The shop keeps limited weekday hours, so this is one to plan rather than stumble upon. If you already know Landert from the Vanderbilt Farmers Market, this is where to find the larger selection during the week.
