Best Italian Restaurants on Fifth Ave South: Alberto's on Fifth
With so many Italian restaurants on Fifth Ave South, it's hard to pick and choose. But Alberto's on Fifth, which serves authentic Northern Italian food with French culinary influences, never disappoints. They were featured in The Naples Florida Review for their an early bird and late night special menu with deals you can't find anywhere else downtown. For just $39, Alberto's offers a two course dinner of your choosing and a glass of wine.
Chef Alberto Varetto hails from Italy and is somewhat of a culinary prodigy. His culinary apprenticeship started when he was 12, and at just 15 he won the privilege of representing Italy in a European culinary competition against much more senior competitors. In the early 2000s, he came to Florida and spent 9 years as Executive Chef of Sale e Pepe on Marco Ocean Beach Island Resort. Now at Alberto's, he keeps his Northern Italian roots, making pasta by hand and turning out delicate and delicious cuisine.
The dining room is uniquely spacious, especially for the location, and guests rave about the food being some of the best outside of Italy. Start with the beet salad, and then order the jumbo scallops and shrimp served with lobster sauce or the agnolotti, a handmade, pillow-shaped pasta served in parmesan cream. The veal tenderloin with porcini mushroom sauce is also a great option, and the early bird dining deals can't be beat.
So the next time you're downtown, check out Alberto's—you won't regret it.

A great deal in the heart of downtown: two courses and a glass of wine for $39. Italian fine dining with warm hospitality—pasta is made in house, and the seafood is always fresh. I love that they have a later dining option too. For 5th Ave South it’s charming and lively, but never too loud. - The Naples Florida Review
